Awards

For a man of his many accomplishments, Dr. Nissenbaum amassed relatively few awards and recognitions. The reason is that he was a humble man, and he refused the many accolades and tributes that were offered to him. He abhorred the self-aggrandizement inherent in such activities and chose instead to live a simple life of quiet service to his family, patients and community. Nevertheless, he took great pride in the awards that are represented on this page.

Bernard Revel Alumni Award

Dr. Nissenbaum was awarded the coveted Yeshiva University Bernard Revel alumni award for his work in the Arts and Sciences (1972).

Liberty Physician Award

Dr. Nissenbaum was a dedicated member of the medical staff of the Jersey City Medical Center, a part of the Liberty Healthcare System. He was awarded the Liberty Physician Award for his lifetime of service. (1999).

Expert Marksman Certification

Dr. Nissenbaum was an expert marksman and attained a certification to the effect from the National Rifle Association.

Mayor's Proclamation

Dr. Nissenbaum was awarded a Citation by the Mayor as well as a Special Resolution by the N.J General Assembly in recognition of his devotion to the community.

Military Commission

Dr. Nissenbaum was a commissioned officer in the Medical Corp of the United States Army Reserve.
